"Pursued"

My three favorite western artists of all time are Russell, Remington and Frank Tenney Johnson. Although Johnson is not as famous as the other two, I don't know any western artist that hasn't been influenced by him. He was the best painter of nocturnals that I've seen. He loved to paint those red rocks and light colored horses. He would paint those night scenes with a series of glazes, which I did here. This painting is my tip-of-the-hat to Frank Tenney Johnson, one of my heroes.
